Perth, Australia Trip 2

You might be wondering why I titled this post as part 2? Wondering why is there no part 1? Haha well it is because when I first visited Perth, Aussie, this blog is still non-existing.

 Bye bye NAIA :'(

I departed last October 26, 2011 and arrived back to the PH last November 3, 2011. Well it was a short stay because classes are still ongoing and because I'm a very studious person, I was scared to miss so much of my classes that time. =))

Bo's Caramel Ice Blended drink and a slice of their Chocolate Cake

Before departure, I wasted some time eating a slice of chocolate cake and a Caramel Ice Blended drink from Bo's. I just consider this as a hobby: buying something to eat and drink before departure. I can say that the Caramel drink is somehow nice, not bad. The chocolate cake slice surprised me as well. I don't know why but I think it just taste nice. Of course, it tasted like chocolate LOL.

Quarter Pounder + Chocolate Sundae @ HK McDonald's

The trip to Perth, Australia was a 2-part flight wherein Hong Kong became my stopover. I roamed around Hong Kong's Airport for about 6-7 hours while waiting for my next flight! I saw plenty of stores and what caught my attention was the Disney shop! Inside I saw a Mickey Mouse hoodie. I forgot to take a picture of it but I was so in love with it! I was about to buy it but when I saw that it costs around 420HK$, I said bye bye and just tried to forget that I saw it. It will just remind me of that super cute hoodie that I wasn't able to take home because I got no enough monehhh. Then I decided to eat my depression away. I went to HK airport's food court wherein I bought a quarter pounder and a chocolate sundae from McDonald's. Nothing different, still the same quarter pounder and chocolate sundae.

And so it's now time for my next flight. Destination: Perth, Aussie.

Cathay Pacific's Meal

Inside the plane, the stewardess asked me whether I want braised chicken with rice or X ( X = food that I forgot what it should be called LOL.) I chose the one above, braised chicken. It came with vegetable salad, a bread, a tim tam (which is kinda famous in Australia because it's their own product and it's super delicious), a chocolate ice cream, and a glass of white wine. For those who may ask, I'm in the economy class section wherein the drinks are overflowing. You can ask for another glass of white wine if you like. You can ask for other drinks like bloody mary, singapore sling, red wine, and many more. As I said, it is overflowing.

Well let's get straight now to my Perth, Aussie experience shall we?

In Perth, I stayed in my parents apartment for my whole stay. Unfortunately, both of them have work to attend to most of the time and my sister also needs to attend her classes. So here I am, going to stroll around the city of Perth and eat my lunch alone.

Caramel Cookie McFlurry

I missed McDonald's already, that I decided to start one of my days in Perth with a McDonald's Caramel Cookie McFlurry! It's SOOOOOOOO DELICIOUSSSSSS!!! Words can't explain how I effin like this sundae! I suggest you try it yourself guys but I don't know if it's still available by the time you come over Perth.

Black Sesame Rice Cake

Rice cake or Ddukbokkie (correct me if I got it wrong) is what kept me alive during lunch. I don't know what got into me for craving korean food even if I'm in Australia that time.

Gloria Jean's Mudslide Mocha

Walking around the city made me tired so I decided to have a drink. I tried Gloria Jean's Mudslide Mocha. I've tasted this drink before but it never fails me. Every sip of it makes me feel that I'm getting 5lbs heavier because of its extreme chocolatey taste! Again, words can't describe this drink! It's SOOOO DELICIOUS! A MUST TRY INDEED. (You should also try Voltage Caramel drink)

McDonald's Cheese Burger meal

And because I love McDonald's so much, I took my lunch at McDonald's. I tried their Cheeseburger value meal just to compare if it's nothing different with what we have here in the Philippines. When I took a bite of their cheeseburger, I realized that... there is nothing different LOL.

Miss Maud Swedish Hotel

One of the cool structures I've seen in the city is the Miss Maud Swedish Hotel. My mom told me that they offer delicious cakes. Unfortunately, I haven't tried even one. I pity myself :(

Ye London Court

Walking around the city even more, I once again passed by the Ye London Court. Many souvenir shops can be seen along this pathway. You can buy cheap koala bear and kangaroo stuff toys here. One small stuff toy only cost 3.00AU$.

 Coke bottles

When I passed by the supermarket (Coles) I saw these cute coke bottles then I tried to browse some bottles which contain the names of some of my friends. I luckily found Nicole, Jonathan, Anna, and Bianca. It's nice that Coke made such seasonal change on their bottles' appearance, but I think it would be better if they produced one with my name on it LOL.

Video when we saw the Queen waving at us!!!

Weekend came and at last my parents and my sister is now available for some family bonding. During my stay in Perth, Queen Elizabeth, Duke of Edinburgh, and Prince Philip visited Perth for CHOGM and had a celebration called "Big Aussie Barbecue" at the Esplanade and Langley Park. So we went to the Langley park to expect some free sausage barbecues and other freebies.

While waiting for Queen Elizabeth, we stuffed ourselves with sausage barbecues and some softdrinks.

After an hour of waiting, the Queen's mobile passed by our side and I'm so grateful to see the Queen up close. We were like 5 feet away from the Queen that time and it's an honor to see her.

After the event, we decided to go back to the city. Along the way, we saw some acquaintances. They have their "baon" at that time and shared it with us.

Utopia's "Sweet Love" drink

Along way home, my sister insisted that we pass by Utopia and buy some bubble tea there. I chose the "Sweet Love" drink. I found the names of their drinks COOL. Some drinks there are named "Spring Love", "Spring Love", "Winter Love", and etc (don't think that all their drinks have the word 'LOVE' at the end LOL)

Sunday came and we decided to have some barbecue with other family friends in the park. Me and my sister played badminton there.

The place is nice because the air is fresh. I don't get the "malagkit" feeling even if we played badminton and there was no sign of perspiration.

Large Hello Panda

This time we went to a convenience store to buy some "pasalubongs." When I saw this Hello Panda, I suddenly thought of my friend Jennifer who I think is somehow addicted to Hello Panda. So I bought this one as "pasalubong" for her.

One of the reasons why I came to Perth is because my mum promised me that she'll buy me an iPhone4s (I asked for it because I think my iPhone3Gs is old already.) So before we went to the Apple store, we reserved first for a 64gb iPhone4s on their site the night before we went to the store. Me and my dad went to the Apple store to pay for the iPhone4s. After paying for it, my dad left me because he has some work to do. I leeched network connection from the Apple store and tried my new iPhone4s! I downloaded so many apps because I got the feeling that their download speed is about 1mbps or maybe more than that! So I stayed in the Apple store and waited for my mum who will be there in the afternoon to fetch me.

Looking around the Apple store, I saw this cute iPhone casing. It's somewhat cute because it is color white and it has some shade of pink on it. But of course the name tells me that it's expensive haha.

My whole stay in Perth now ends and it's time to go now back to the PH. Again, I find myself alone because the seat beside me is empty. Well it is also good because I can have an extra blanket LOL.

And finally I arrived! My two aunts fetched me and they dropped me of at Taft to attend my 11:20am class ENPROMA but I arrived in my class at exactly 12:30pm. My professor made fun of me because the class will end at 12:50pm and I showed up 20 mins. before dismissal LOL.After that class, I gave Jen her pasalubong and also to my friends and attended my next class.

In the afternoon, me and my friend Janelle had a dinner at Mang Inasal. I can't believe that I'm still awake at that time because I enjoyed my flight and watched all the exciting movies instead of sleeping. I even read the story that was given to us as a reading assignment for our HUMALIT course inside the plane.

Last note: The thing that made my stay in Perth comfortable is the bus ride. The bus ride in the city is for FREE. YES! For FREE! Well it is free as long as you're still inside the city. Compared here in the PH, you can't find such thing.

That's all for now folks. I enjoy riding the plane alone because it makes me feel that I'm mature enough to be on my own. Also it makes me trust my instincts haha. Well it's kinda lonely striding along the airport shops alone but it's kind of fun when you have all the time by yourself :)

  1. How come you didn't post pictures of your "pasalubong" for us? I really liked the Cadbury Bubbly you gave me! :D
